Dr Rona Francisco is an Endocrinologist / Diabetes Specialist and a teaching academic at
the Macquarie University Department of Medicine.

She completed her Bachelor of Medicine
and Surgery (MBBS) degree at the University of Sydney, after being awarded first class honours in Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of NSW. She underwent Endocrinology and Physician training at Blacktown, Liverpool, Bankstown, Nepean and Concord Hospitals. 

She is passionate about teaching medical students and has held conjoint associate lecturer appointments at UNSW and Western Sydney University medical schools, in addition to her academic role at Macquarie University. She has a professional membership with the Australasian Diabetes Society (ADS) and the Endocrine Society of Australia (ESA).

Dr Mikey Xie is a Clinical Endocrinologist committed to providing evidence-based, holistic and individualised care to his patients.

Dr Xie completed his medical degree with distinction from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He has also completed a Masters of Clinical Epidemiology through the University of Sydney. He underwent his specialist training at Royal Prince Alfred, Liverpool and Westmead Hospitals.
 

He has published manuscripts in various diabetes and endocrine journals and presented at both national and international conferences. He is dedicated to medical student teaching and has held conjoint associate lecturer positions at UNSW. He is a member of the Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) and the Endocrine Society of Australia (ESA).

Dr Will Kovacevic is a dual-trained Endocrinologist and General Physician. He graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery and previously completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours in Immunology at The University of Sydney.

 

He completed his Advanced Training in Endocrinology and General and Acute Care Medicine through Nepean, Hornsby, Blacktown and Blue Mountains Hospitals. His appointments are at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital as a visiting Endocrinologist and previously as a Staff Specialist in General Medicine.

His interests are in General Endocrinology, particularly the management of diabetes including gestational diabetes, osteoporosis, thyroid disease, electrolyte disorders, as well as hypertension and perioperative medicine.

Dr. Peter Kolovos is a Nephrologist with a clinical appointment at Blue Mountains Hospital. He completed his Nephrology training at Prince of Wales, St George Hospital, Royal North Shore, and Nepean Hospital.
 

Dr. Kolovos has extensive experience in all aspects of Renal medicine. This includes hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, glomerulonephritis, dialysis, and kidney transplantation. He takes a holistic and proactive approach to managing chronic health conditions, aiming to prevent progression and minimize their impact on day-to-day life.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kolovos has published research in various peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in the training of junior medical officers.

Jenet Thevarajah is a specialised Diabetes Educator and Registered Nurse who has clinical expertise in the following areas:
 

• Education for newly diagnosed Diabetes

• Assistance with NDSS registration

• Insulin starts (Insulin education)

• Insulin pumps

• Carbohydrate counting

• Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)

• Applying for access to subsidised CGM (for Type 1 Diabetes)

• Weight loss management

• Gestational Diabetes
